Planning your Summer: Kids Activities for the Summer Holidays

The summer holidays are almost here, which means six long weeks of keeping the kids entertained! Most families have at least one or two weeks to spend together during the summer, and it’s really important to plan ahead to get the most out of your time off school and work. When it comes to planning your summer, we’ve got it sorted here at Rush Birmingham! Take a look at all the family friendly activities we have planned for you to take advantage of.

Glasto comes to Rush

It’s the UK’s biggest festival and Rush is bringing the festival spirit! From 21st-25th June we’ll be screening Glastonbury Festival live on our TV screens and our jumpers can also enjoy rave face painting and giant games. If you didn’t manage to get tickets to the world’s best festival then come and enjoy the next best thing!

Holiday Camps

Every weekday from 24th July to 1st September (excluding bank holidays) Rush will be running our popular holiday activity camp. Ideal for children aged 3-15, our activity camps combine trampolining and fun team games with arts and crafts to keep the kids entertained all day. Keep them active whilst having tonnes of fun, and parents get to take a day off!

Dodgeball

Why not ask your children to invite friends or cousins – along with their parents – for a game of extreme dodgeball? The dodgeball courts at Rush can be booked out privately for games, which makes for great family bonding! There’s a minimum of eight players and you even get your very own referee to stop any family arguments!

In the Area

Away from Rush trampoline park there are lots of other kids activities to take part in around Birmingham…

Birmingham Botanical Gardens

If we’re lucky enough to get some warm weather over the holidays then the botanical gardens is a great family day out. There are lots of child-friendly activities held here including a falconry display on 15th August and a huge 100m water slide in the grounds.

Warwick Castle

Venture a little bit further out for a fantastic day full of history and adventure. There’s so much to do here for kids of all ages, including live jousting shows, the castle dungeon and the Horrible Histories maze.

Droitwich Spa Lido

If the weather is fine the why not take the family for a spot of outdoor swimming. The lido includes a 40m swimming pool and a wet play area with water cannons, as well as a café to recharge after your swim.

Whatever you get up to this summer, try and stay active and make some lasting family memories.
