Healthy Holiday Activities in Birmingham

Christmas is over and we’re all feeling the guilt of over-eating and indulging a little too much over the holidays. If you still have some time off work with the kids before they go back to school in January, then why not make some healthy choices rather than slobbing on the couch watching films all day? Birmingham is full of fun activities to get the whole family moving – take a look at the selection below.

Swimming

Having fun in the water is one of the best ways to stay active, and kids just love it. To make sure everyone burns a few calories, set up some races and see who can swim the longest without having to touch the floor. Head to Cocks Moors Woods if you want a full day of family fun as the leisure pool also has slides and a wave pool.

Trampoline Park

Nothing is quite as fun as bouncing around with your friends and family – and you’ll be surprised how good it is for you. Rush Birmingham is so much more than a trampoline park so it will keep everyone occupied all day – take on the assault course, try slam dunk basketball, take on a contender on the battle beam and practice tumbling on the lanes.

Ice Skating

It’s still a great time of year for ice skating, even if the outdoor seasonal rinks have closed for the winter. Head to Solihull Ice Rink for a family session or see when they have a disco skate event planned. If your children love snow based adrenaline activities, then you could also visit Tamworth Snowdome for tobogganing, tubing and snow slopes.

Go Ape

Look no further for a forest adventure than Go Ape. This day out is more adventurous than ever, as the whole family takes on Tarzan swings, high ropes, zip wires and other obstacles in the midst of a beautiful forest.

Bike Ride

You don’t have to pay entry fees to have a great time getting active. If you have a bicycle, take the family to a nearby country park and enjoy the views on two wheels. Biking is an excellent way to burn some Christmas calories, and you can ride for a good few hours before the kids utter the words “I’m bored now!”image of bike ride
