Calling All Students: Fun Alcohol Free Activities

When you’re a student at university, there is a lot of pressure to go out drinking every night. You’ve moved away from home, you’re free, so you have to party all the time! While it’s great at first, you might start to feel the effects of too much alcohol on your body and your coursework. Your wallet will also be stretched, as even with student discount a night on the town is expensive.

If you’re getting bored of doing the same old thing every weekend, then it’s time to look for some alcohol free activities. In Birmingham, there is so much to do and see so you’ll never be lost for ideas. Take a look at some of these student-friendly nights out where you won’t need a drink to have fun.

If you haven’t been to a trampoline park yet, where have you been?! It’s the latest craze and with parks like Rush you can spend hours there with your friends. In addition to the main court of trampolines you can have a go on the trapeze, the Wipeout challenge or the ninja assault course. On Saturday nights you can buy tickets for the After Dark Disco, which features a DJ and UV lights to get the party started – without alcohol.

Tenpin bowling isn’t a new activity, but with trendy lanes popping up everywhere it’s definitely cool again. Grab a bunch of friends and book a lane to practice your skills, and see who can get the most strikes! Many bowling alleys also have a great restaurant attached so you can make a night of it.

Theme park

Who says theme parks are just for kids? A day out at a theme park is a true adventure, especially if you like scaring yourself silly on the biggest rollercoasters. Birmingham is perfectly located for visiting theme parks, the closes being Drayton Manor and Alton Towers.

Check out what’s on at your local theatre – you might be pleasantly surprised at the varied offering. Whether you’d enjoy a play, a musical or a comedy night, you’re bound to find something on every week that’s affordable.

Sporting events

If you’re a fan of sports then you’ll always find something to do in Birmingham. With five top football clubs in and around the city, the Midlands also offers world class events in golf, cricket and rugby.

Give your liver a break and spend some quality time with your mates this weekend.
